PURPOSE:
The Pastor/Director of Worship Arts is to provide spiritual and administrative leadership for all Worship Arts ministries of Lake Center Bible Church (LCBC).
OBJECTIVES:
- To teach the biblical foundations supporting the worship philosophy of LCBC.
- To establish clear goals and measurable objectives for the worship arts ministries at LCBC.
- To oversee through delegation all of the facets of the worship arts ministries at LCBC.
- To recruit, train, and supervise the leaders of the worship arts ministries at LCBC.
- To assist the Senior Pastor in other areas of ministry when deemed necessary by the Senior Pastor.
POSITION TITLE:
Pastor/Director of Worship Arts.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Be born again and living a dedicated, separated Christian life.
- Agree with the Doctrinal Statement, Constitution, Articles of Faith, and Bylaws of LCBC.
- Be committed to the mission, vision, values, and ministry philosophy of LCBC.
- Be a self-starter who also demonstrates a willingness to operate as part of a team.
- Manifest leadership qualities as well as organizational and communication skills.
- Possess the spiritual gifts of administration and leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare worship ministries for weekly meetings.
- Recruit, train, and oversee all leaders of the worship arts ministries.
- Develop strategies, opportunities, and ministries to disciple individuals involved in the worship arts ministries.
WORK TASKS:
- Oversee corporate worship ministry of LCBC through regular group and leader meetings.
- Develop/implement creative worship elements for all worship services and special events, including choir, praise teams, ensembles.
- Attend meetings of the Board of Elders.
- Meet weekly with the Senior Pastor for encouragement, counsel, advice, and prayer.
- Attend weekly staff meetings.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
He/she will be directly accountable to the Senior Pastor.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE:
- He/she will support the Doctrinal Statement, Constitution, Articles of Faith, and Bylaws of LCBC, and should conduct himself at all times in such a manner as set forth in the Word of God for a servant of God.
- He/she will accomplish his duties and responsibilities in a professional manner and should demonstrate, along with the fruit of the Holy Spirit, the standards of excellence, faithfulness, loyalty, and maturity.
- He/she will be above reproach in all relationships, and will maintain moral purity and a healthy relationship with his/her spouse, who should be thoroughly supportive of his/her ministry.
EVALUATION:
His/her role description and ministry performance will be evaluated annually by the process set up by the Senior Pastor.
DETAILED PROFILE
- Has ability to draw others into a passionate, contagious, authentic, shared worship experience
- Has minimum of 5 years experience
- Is current with contemporary and culturally relevant using secular, sacred and multiple genres of worship music.
- Has a proven track record of thinking outside the box creatively in leading, and allowing others to lead, in worshipping God.
- Has a history of being a team player that has the ability to build, equip, and enable teams to carry on the ministry of worship leading.
- Has the ability to interact with people from a wide variety of musical points of view without necessarily being solely wed to one form and unable to relate to other forms.
- Has a strong track record of good leadership skills and the ability to see the administrative elements of planning a worship ministry (planning, coordination, teams) from start to finish.
- Has ability to recruit, train and equip worship personnel both spiritually and musically.
- Has the ability to arrange music.
- Understands the Scriptures and can communicate and teach them through worship. Formal biblical education a plus.
- Has ability to study modern culture and infuse relevancy into worship without compromising the message
- Strongly prefer ability to vocally lead worship from piano/keyboard and/or guitar
- Must be obsessed with transforming peoples’ lives through the ministry in a high energy, fast paced environment that has grown 35% over three years.
- Has ability to develop worship arts teams.
- Has ability to infuse creativity into all aspects of the church’s worship experience (music, drama and literary teams)
- Has a basic understanding of audio/visual and multimedia equipment as well as vision for future broadcasting.
